Boardroom insiders closely monitoring the film’s success—both financially and in terms of entertainment value—say there’s cause for optimism that the movie can even topple the current record-holder Rewind.
The big news today was that the co-production of ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA Pictures made history, pulling in a history-making P85 million on Nov. 13.
The staggering first-day sales figure was about 150 percent more than the original Hello, Love, Goodbye and almost three times that of Rewind last year.
Media executives involved in the project are certainly doing their part in supporting Hello, Love, Again, which reunites starstruck lovers Joy (Kathryn Bernardo) and Ethan (Alden Richards) in Canada.
One official told us he had already seen the movie. Twice.
This franchise resonates deeply because it thoughtfully explores issues that are deeply embedded in the overseas Filipino worker community.
“Hello, Love, Again is a great story about the hopes, dreams, and realities of our OFWs portrayed by two very talented artists and directed by one of the best directors of our time,” the executive said, referring to Cathy Garcia-Sampana.
“We hope the movie touches more people, including audiences all over the world whose lives have been touched one way or another by a caring OFW,” he added.
