Boarded-up walls at the former AllDay now tease Shopwise’s return, with signs announcing the supermarket chain’s comeback to the site.
Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. president and CEO Stanley Co confirmed the move, saying it was a fitting return for the location that put Shopwise “on the map.”
It also sits next door to Robinsons Retail’s headquarters along C-5, placing one of its most recognizable supermarket brands beside its corporate base.
Opening in a few months
“It’s a big store… We’re keeping the structure but rebuilding the inside,” Co told InsiderPH, adding that the lease deal had earlier been finalized.
Christine Tueres, managing director for big formats at Robinsons Supermarket, The Marketplace and Shopwise, said Shopwise in Libis is set to reopen in November 2026.
Reclaiming market position
Shopwise last operated in Libis in 2017—a year before Robinsons Retail acquired the popular hypermarket chain.
“Shopwise is the natural choice for Libis,” Tueres said in an email to InsiderPH.
“It will be the flagship reopening of the brand’s expansion. The brand has strong equity here. Customers remembered it and were loyal to it. That foundation means we’re also not starting from zero in terms of brand awareness—we’re reclaiming market position,” she added.
The site is surrounded by upscale residential developments, office buildings and emerging townships.
“The Libis corridor has experienced significant growth, with increased residential developments, office spaces, and a larger catchment of customers seeking convenient, value-driven shopping,” Tueres said.
Former Villar flagship
The Libis site was once AllDay’s flagship store when the chain listed in 2021.
Several AllDay branches have since closed, although the company has not formally announced a broader store rationalization program.
The complex also housed an AllHome branch and Coffee Project, part of the Villar group’s 24/7 retail concept that brought multiple retail brands together under one location.
