MRSGI’s Metro Corner, a new urban lifestyle concept

Metro Retail Stores Group Inc. (MRSGI) has launched Metro Corner, a new premium lifestyle store format designed to bring modern convenience to vertical communities, marking its entry into a new retail category tailored for today’s urban lifestyle.

The first of its kind under the Metro Retail banner, Metro Corner at Mandani Bay combines the accessibility of a neighborhood store with the sophistication of a boutique shopping experience.

The store officially opened at Tower 1, Ground Floor, Mandani Bay Suites, Oceanview Avenue, and is envisioned to serve the growing Mandani Bay community and surrounding districts—professionals, urban dwellers, and condo residents who value convenience without sacrificing quality or style.

A new chapter in retail innovation

“Metro Corner represents the next chapter of Metro Retail’s innovation in serving our customers,” Joel Orense, president and COO of MRSGI, said in a recent press release.

“It’s a new store format that reflects how shopping is changing in urban communities, compact and closer, designed around convenience without losing the warmth and quality Metro is known for.”

It offers a curated selection of essentials, artisan goods, organic products, and international specialties, blending everyday necessities with refined lifestyle finds. Each item is chosen to match the pace and preferences of modern condo living—practical, stylish, and of premium quality.

Unlike traditional supermarket formats, Metro Corner aims for an intimate and inviting atmosphere, with modern interiors, organized layouts, and easy navigation that encourage quick yet enjoyable shopping. Customers can expect fresh selections, personalized service, and faster checkout options designed for people on the go.

Designed for Mandani Bay’s modern community

Mandani Bay, a rapidly developing mixed-use community in Mandaue City, provides the ideal setting for Metro Corner’s debut. Its growing population of residents, professionals, and visitors aligns perfectly with MRSGI’s mission to make quality shopping accessible within local communities.

The launch event was attended by Metro Retail and Mandani Bay executives, including chair Sherisa Nuesa, vice chair Margaret Gaisano-Ang, and Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano, among others.
