In addition, the Shopify Southeast Asia Retail Report 2024 found that 46 percent of Filipino consumers value a convenient mobile shopping app, and 45 percent look for free returns.
Zooming out, the current economic climate has prompted 83 percent of Southeast Asian consumers to cut back on non-essential expenses, significantly influencing purchasing behavior.
Price remains a critical factor for these shoppers, with 96 percent staying loyal to brands offering incentives, and consistently low prices or promotions attracting 70 percent.
To drive sales and maintain favorable margins, retailers are increasingly focusing on contextual real-time pricing, with 71 percent planning to invest in this technology.
