Insider Spotlight
The big picture
SMHCC’s latest pipeline underscores a deliberate shift toward hotels built for flexibility, connectivity, and long-term relevance.
From integrated mall access to adaptable meeting spaces, the group is aligning its hospitality assets with the country’s growing demand for business travel, leisure stays, and large-scale events.
Why it matters
As travel patterns evolve, hotel operators are under pressure to deliver more than rooms. SMHCC’s strategy centers on properties that can seamlessly serve corporate meetings, family travel, and lifestyle-driven guests while remaining scalable as destinations mature.
What’s new
Set to open in the fourth quarter of 2027, Park Inn by Radisson SM City Dasmariñas will introduce 148 guestrooms and one suite, directly connected to a major retail hub in Cavite.
The hotel is designed with business and leisure travelers in mind, featuring an all-day dining restaurant, a fitness center, and flexible function and meeting rooms that cater to corporate events and social gatherings.
Zoom out
Beyond Cavite, SMHCC and Radisson are developing a landmark dual-brand hospitality hub at the 67-hectare SM Mall of Asia Complex.
By 2031, the site will host Radisson Hotel SM Mall of Asia Manila, a 200-room upscale property with expansive meetings and events facilities, alongside Park Inn by Radisson SM Mall of Asia Manila, a 300-room midscale option offering leisure and family-friendly amenities.
The surrounding district, which includes the SM Mall of Asia Arena, SMX Convention Center Manila, and the upcoming SMXCITE, is expected to significantly boost demand for accommodations that can handle large volumes of visitors and events.
Further south, Park Inn by Radisson SM City Santa Rosa, slated for a 2029 opening, will add 200 rooms to one of the country’s fastest-growing city centers.
The property will feature multiple food and beverage outlets, modern meetings facilities, and leisure amenities designed for both short stays and extended visits.
What they’re saying
“With the opening of Park Inn by Radisson SM City Dasmariñas and a robust pipeline of developments across key growth corridors, SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. continues to strengthen its position as a leading force in Philippine hospitality that delivers scale, diversity, and long-term value through strategic partnerships and visionary developments,” SMHCC executive vice president Peggy E.
