Insider Spotlight
Designed to serve travelers who blend business with leisure, the property reflects a shift in how visitors experience Mactan: connected, efficient, and effortlessly relaxed.
Why it matters
As business travel rebounds and travelers seek more flexible stays, "bleisure" hotels are gaining ground.
Fairfield’s debut answers that demand by offering a streamlined city hotel experience just minutes from the airport, while keeping guests close to Mactan’s beaches, dining scene, and cultural attractions.
The big picture
Developed by AppleOne Group, Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan is part of the new Mahi Center, a mixed-use lifestyle destination combining hospitality, retail, and dining.
The hotel features 196 rooms designed for productivity and rest, along with two flexible meeting spaces covering 256.22 square meters, a fitness center, and an all-day dining restaurant.
Its Scandinavian-inspired interiors emphasize calm tones, intuitive layouts, and functional comfort suited for short business stays and extended leisure visits alike.
What sets it apart
Unlike traditional resort properties, Fairfield leans into its urban edge. Located about five minutes from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the hotel allows travelers to transition seamlessly from meetings to downtime, making it an ideal base for executives, digital nomads, and weekend explorers.
Its location within Mahi Center places guests steps away from dining, retail, and everyday conveniences, reinforcing the bleisure concept of staying productive without feeling disconnected from local life.
What they’re saying
“Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan represents more than just a new hotel. It’s an invitation to experience Cebu with greater ease and authenticity,” Dottie V. Würgler, multi-property general manager of Sheraton Cebu Mactan and Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan, said in a press release on Dec. 18, 2025.
“We’re excited to welcome guests into a space where comfort, convenience, and genuine care come together, right here at the gateway of Mactan.”
For AppleOne Group, Fairfield marks its second Marriott-branded property after the Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, but with a distinct positioning.
“This opening is deeply personal for us,” said Samantha Manigsaca, vice president for Hospitality at AppleOne Group.
“Cebu has always been our home, and every project we build is rooted in that connection. With Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan, we wanted to create a place that reflects Mactan’s quiet strength and optimism.”
