The Singapore-based chain recently opened its 12th Philippine branch at Opus Mall in Bridgetowne as it accelerates expansion after refining its retail concept.

Expansion gathers pace

General manager Pearly L. Templado said the company plans to roughly double its store network over the next few years, with the goal of reaching the top position in the market within five years.

Robinsons Retail Holdings president and CEO Stanley Co said the company deliberately focused on improving the shopping experience before speeding up expansion.

“For us, we had to get it right before we expand and now we’re getting it right,” Co told InsiderPH.

Exclusive brands drive strategy

The retailer is also differentiating itself through exclusive brands and private-label products from Singapore that cannot be found in other pet retail chains.

These products currently account for about 8 percent to 10 percent of sales, while the stores also offer personalized pet tag engraving, birthday party packages and other services designed to attract repeat customers.

Joining the celebration on July 24, 2026 were Gokongwei-Pe’s two French bulldogs, Pilar and Peppo, who made a special appearance at the launch of the brand’s newest outlet./Contributed

Growing pet economy

A recent Kantar Media study showed 94 percent of Filipino households owned a pet in 2024, the highest rate in Southeast Asia, underscoring the industry’s growth potential.

Co said the strong demand is also reflected in Robinsons Retail’s financial performance as Pet Lovers Centre prepares to significantly expand its footprint nationwide.
