WINNING | Filipino AI boosts autonomous app research tools

Insider Spotlight

  • Filipino-built AI tool advances autonomous payments for AI agents
  • Sniffy integrates App Store Optimization into agentic workflows
  • Morph, Bitget, and DvCode strengthen Web3 builder ecosystem

Filipino developers are pushing AI agents beyond automation and into autonomous commerce, with a locally built solution demonstrating how artificial intelligence can independently purchase and access App Store Optimization (ASO) data to streamline product research.

The development underscores the growing role of AI-native payment infrastructure in enabling software agents to complete business tasks without human intervention.

The momentum comes after Sniffy emerged as the grand champion of Morph's Build In! Payments Hackathon, a competition challenging Filipino developers to create practical payment solutions for real-world use cases.

Built for founders and product teams, Sniffy enables ASO research to become part of agentic workflows, eliminating manual dashboard monitoring while helping improve app discoverability across Apple's App Store and Google Play.

Why it matters

Autonomous payment capabilities are increasingly viewed as a critical building block for AI agents that can independently access paid services, process transactions, and execute business operations without constant human oversight.

The multi-week hackathon, organized by Morph in partnership with Bitget's Blockchain4Youth initiative and DvCode Technologies Inc., featured payment tracks covering cross-border remittance, SME payments, payroll and B2B, FX treasury, and x402 agentic payments.

Other winners included Mandate402, Centrus Sovereign, Ember, PayMemo, Agent Mesh, and Echo. Participants competed for a 3,500 USDC prize pool before the program concluded with a live showcase in Taguig City.

"At Bitget, we believe the future of Web3 starts with investing in people,” chief executive officer of Bitget Gracy Chen said in a press statement.

“Through Blockchain4Youth, our goal is to empower the next generation of builders by giving them access to learning opportunities where they can grow their skills with confidence. Supporting initiatives like the hackathon reflects our commitment to helping aspiring builders take their first steps toward building payment solutions,” she added.

The bottom line

Organizers said the initiative reinforces a builder-first culture through hands-on development, mentorship, and collaboration, while introducing developers to Morph's ecosystem as the network positions itself as a settlement layer for global on-chain payments. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S.
