Lenovo is positioning itself for the next phase of artificial intelligence adoption as it accelerates the shift from training large language models (LLMs) to deploying AI inferencing at scale, targeting real-world use cases from retail transactions to critical healthcare applications.

In a press statement, Lenovo said it unveiled a suite of purpose-built enterprise servers, solutions, and services at its recent Tech World@CES 2026 event in Las Vegas, aimed at helping organizations operationalize AI and generate faster business returns.

From training to action

AI inferencing represents a pivotal shift in the AI lifecycle—from building and training models to using fully trained systems to analyze new data and make decisions in real time.

For enterprises, this transition marks the point where heavy capital investments in AI infrastructure translate into tangible operational value and competitive advantage.

In the same statement, Lenovo said its new AI Inferencing suite is designed to maximize return on investment by unifying and connecting data across the cloud, data center, and edge, allowing AI workloads to run wherever they deliver the greatest impact.

According to  technology research, advisory, and consulting firm Futurum, the global AI inference infrastructure market is expected to grow from $5 billion in 2024 to $48.8 billion by 2030, or  a compound annual growth rate of 46.3 percent over six years.

“Enterprises today need AI that can turn massive amounts of data into insight the moment it’s created,” said Ashley Gorakhpurwalla, executive vice president at Lenovo and president of Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group.

“With Lenovo’s new inferencing-optimized infrastructure, we are giving customers that real-time advantage—transforming massive amounts of data into instant, actionable intelligence.”

New ThinkSystem and ThinkEdge servers

At the core of Lenovo’s push are new AI inferencing servers built to support workloads of varying scale and complexity, featuring advanced GPU, memory, and networking capabilities.

The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR675i is positioned as a high-performance AI inferencing server capable of running full LLMs anywhere, offering massive scalability for large workloads and accelerated simulations in manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services.

Meanwhile, the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650i is designed for accelerated AI inferencing with high-density GPU compute, offering scalability and ease of deployment within existing data center environments.

For edge use cases, Lenovo introduced the ThinkEdge SE455i, a compact, rugged server aimed at retail, telecommunications, and industrial environments. Lenovo said the system delivers ultra-low latency AI inferencing and can operate in temperatures ranging from -5°C to 55°C, enabling AI deployment closer to where data is generated.

These systems are complemented by Lenovo Neptune air and liquid cooling technologies to address energy and thermal constraints, as well as the Lenovo TruScale pay-as-you-go pricing model to help enterprises scale without large upfront investments.

Hybrid AI Factory and ecosystem platforms

Lenovo’s enterprise AI hardware serves as the foundation of its Hybrid AI Factory, a modular and validated framework for building and operating AI solutions at scale.

Part of the broader Lenovo Hybrid AI Advantage, the Factory integrates infrastructure, software, and services to reduce deployment risks and speed up time to market.

New AI inferencing platforms include Lenovo Hybrid AI Inferencing with ThinkAgile HX and Nutanix AI for centralized inference and higher GPU utilization; Lenovo Hybrid AI Inferencing with Red Hat AI for scalable, enterprise-grade deployments; and Lenovo Hybrid AI Inferencing with Canonical Ubuntu Pro, a cost-effective option for organizations beginning their AI journey.

Services to accelerate adoption

To support adoption, Lenovo is expanding its Hybrid AI Factory Services, offering advisory, deployment, and managed services tailored to industry-specific inferencing workloads.

These include performance optimization from day one, ongoing data center support through Lenovo Premier Support, and flexible TruScale Infrastructure-as-a-Service financing.

Lenovo said the services are designed to help enterprises adapt as AI operations evolve, while ensuring reliability and scalability for mission-critical deployments. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
