Small and medium enterprises dominate the Philippine economy but often lack the resources to produce professional marketing materials. AI-powered tools could help bridge that gap.
According to the Department of Trade and Industry, more than 99 percent of businesses in the Philippines are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), employing over 60 percent of the country’s workforce.
Yet many Filipino entrepreneurs—from neighborhood shops to online sellers—struggle to maintain a consistent digital presence across social media and e-commerce platforms.
How it works
Pomelli uses Google’s AI technology, developed with DeepMind, to analyze a business’s website and automatically generate marketing materials.
By entering a website URL, the system scans the page to extract elements such as color palette, typography and tone of voice—what the platform calls a brand’s “Business DNA.”
From that profile, Pomelli can create campaign ideas and ready-to-use content such as captions and images for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn in under a minute.
The big picture
Tools like Pomelli aim to lower the barrier to digital marketing for entrepreneurs who may not have access to design agencies or marketing teams.
For solo entrepreneurs and small retailers, generating professional content quickly can help expand their reach beyond a physical storefront and attract new customers online.
Between the lines
The rollout comes as the Philippines accelerates its shift toward e-commerce and digital services, with the country’s digital economy projected to grow significantly by 2030.
For MSMEs, the ability to create consistent, on-brand marketing could become a key advantage in capturing a share of that expanding market.
