“We do not take this recognition for granted. Whatever our history, we must earn our stakeholders’ trust every day,” Ayala Corp. president and CEO Cezar "Bong" Consing said in a statement on Tuesday.
Top marks across the group
Ayala received the 5 Golden Arrow Award from the Institute of Corporate Directors, the highest distinction at its annual Golden Arrow Awards, while nine other companies in the group also earned recognition.
Globe Telecom and Bank of the Philippine Islands matched the parent company's five-arrow rating, with Globe also entering the Golden Arrow Hall of Fame after securing the highest distinction for five consecutive years.
ACEN and Ayala Land earned four arrows each, while AREIT, Integrated Micro-Electronics, AyalaLand Logistics Holdings and BPI AIA received three arrows each.
ENEX received one arrow, completing the list of recognized Ayala companies.
Trust beyond the boardroom
“Good governance comes to life in the care people bring to their work and the decisions they make each day. We thank our board, management, and teams whose diligence makes this recognition possible. Their commitment helps ensure that the standards we set are reflected in how we serve our stakeholders,” said Ayala chief legal counsel Franchette Acosta said in the same statement.
The rankings assess companies against Philippine and international governance standards, including shareholder rights, transparency, board responsibilities and sustainability.
