InsiderPH learned that SM Prime is ready to redevelop the property and its rumored partner is the Kuok family behind Shang Properties, the developer of Shangri-La Plaza mall and several high-end projects in Metro Manila and Cebu.
The specific project details remain under wraps, but the move mirrors a familiar strategy: When the SM Group partnered with the Ty family’s Federal Land to develop the Foster + Partners-designed The Estate along Ayala Avenue.
SM Prime is expanding into more premium projects, with SM Residences as its new vehicle in the housing market.
