INSIDER INFO: Ukrainian presidential jet arrived in Manila late Sunday night

A Ukraine-registed Airbus VIP transport jet — said to be carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — landed in Manila last night after a flight from Singapore’s Paya Lebar air base, according to data from flight tracking site Flightaware.com.

The Airbus ACJ319 with registry number UR-ABA is owned by Ukraine Air Enterprise and is often seen ferrying the Ukrainian president in his travels to seek support from heads of state around the world after the country was invaded by Russia in 2022.

The jet took off from Singapore at 7:50 p.m. and landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 11:12 p.m. after a flight time of 3 hours and 22 minutes. The ACJ319 is a shortened version of the commercial A320 aircraft, but with a longer range for executive transport roles.

On Sunday evening, Rappler reported that Zelensky will visit Manila after attending the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore over the weekend, quoting diplomatic sources.

Zelensky and President Marcos were unable to meet during the high-profile regional security conference due to incompatible schedules. Sources said the Ukrainian president is set to meet with Mr. Marcos this morning.
