Insider Spotlight
Located on a 5,384-square-meter property along Eco West Drive in Davao City, the hotel is positioned about a one-minute walk from SM City Ecoland Davao. The development will offer an all-day dining HBNB Kitchen operated by a concessionaire, a fitness gym, full-size swimming pool, function and conference rooms, and a helipad.
Why it matters
The opening strengthens Hotel101’s presence in the Philippine hospitality market while expanding DoubleDragon’s portfolio of recurring income-generating assets. The company has been positioning its hospitality business as part of a broader strategy that also includes community malls, industrial warehouses, and office leasing assets.
Hotel101 Global has been promoting its asset-light HBNB business model as a scalable platform for international growth. The company’s long-term vision is to establish one million uniform Hotel101 rooms across 100 countries through licensing and expansion initiatives.
The big picture
The Davao property is one of several major hotel projects scheduled to contribute to Hotel101 Global’s expansion in 2026.
The company said a total of 2,229 additional hotel rooms are expected to become operational this year, including properties in Madrid, Davao, Cebu, and Niseko, Japan.
Hotel101-Madrid, which opened in March 2026, marked the brand’s first operating property outside the Philippines and has delivered strong initial performance, according to the company.
Hotel101 Global also expects to begin generating recurring revenues from its 482-room Hotel101-Niseko project in Hokkaido, Japan by December 2026.
DoubleDragon said the continued rollout of Hotel101 properties supports its goal of building a globally recognized Filipino hotel brand while increasing recurring revenues from both domestic and international operations. —Daxim L. Lucas| Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
