The property will be operated under AyalaLand Hotels and Resorts Corp. (AHRC), a wholly owned unit of ALI, as part of the group’s strategy to enhance its presence in high-growth urban centers. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“This move reflects our continued focus on offering a cohesive and high-quality guest experience across key locations,” George Aquino, president and CEO of AyalaLand Hospitality, said in a statement.
Located across from the Greenbelt complex and within walking distance of Makati’s upscale retail and office corridors, New World Hotel Makati will remain operational during the transition. Ayala Land said the existing hotel staff will be retained and all current bookings honored, ensuring uninterrupted service and a seamless handover.
Ayala Land, one of the country’s largest property developers, has a diversified portfolio that includes residential, office, retail, and tourism estates. Its hospitality arm operates several well-known brands including Seda and El Nido Resorts, among others.
The acquisition strengthens ALI’s positioning in the upscale hospitality sector and reflects confidence in the long-term prospects of business and leisure travel in Metro Manila. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
