DoubleDragon Corp., backed by tycoons Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Tony Tan Caktiong, is closing in on another international milestone, with its 482-room Hotel101-Niseko entering the final stretch of construction ahead of its planned December 2026 opening.

The company said the building’s facade has been completed, while interior fit-out works are now in full swing.

Once operational, the property will become Hotel101’s second overseas hotel after the opening of its 680-room Madrid property in March.

With 482 rooms, the company said Hotel101-Niseko will be the largest hotel in Kutchan, the gateway town to Japan’s Niseko ski resort. The opening will also make DoubleDragon the first Filipino homegrown hotel chain to build and operate a hotel in Japan.

This project forms part of DoubleDragon’s broader global expansion strategy, with 2,229 new Hotel101 rooms scheduled to open this year alone.
