Why it matters
The new 150-key lifestyle hotel, slated to open in 2029, positions Dusit at the center of the sprawling 20-million-square-meter Camaya Coast development in Mariveles.
Bataan’s visitor arrivals surged to 1,237,611 in 2024, a jump of 41.16 percent, fueled by heritage tourism, beach destinations, and its rising eco-tourism profile.
Driving the news
The signing ceremony was held at Baan Dusit Thani in Bangkok. The agreement marks a strategic milestone for the Thai hospitality group, which is introducing its ASAI Hotels brand to a rapidly evolving domestic tourism hotspot reachable by a four-hour drive or a 90-minute ferry ride from Manila.
The big picture
Backed by new attractions, residential communities, entertainment offerings, and infrastructure upgrades — including the upcoming Camaya Airport — Camaya Coast is primed to draw more visitors.
ASAI Camaya Coast will be the brand’s first property in a large-scale master-planned seaside township, giving guests direct access to dining and retail zones, outdoor activity hubs, a water park, an 18-hole golf course, event venues, and the township’s signature white-sand beach.
What they’re saying
“Camaya Coast is one of the most compelling leisure destinations emerging in the Philippines today, and we are delighted to introduce ASAI Hotels to this dynamic setting,” said Gilles Cretallaz, COO of Dusit International, in a press statement.
“With visitor arrivals in Bataan showing exceptionally strong growth, and with the township set to benefit from expanded infrastructure and improved connectivity, we see tremendous long-term potential for creating memorable guest experiences rooted in community, culture, and the natural environment.”

ASAI Camaya Coast will reflect the brand’s compact yet thoughtfully designed rooms, energizing social spaces, and locally inspired dining — a formula that has seen success in urban hubs like Bangkok and Kyoto. The township’s nature-first vision, which preserves forest areas and wildlife habitats, aligns with Dusit’s sustainability framework, Tree of Life.
What’s next
Dusit already operates five properties in the Philippines and is gearing up for multiple openings beginning 2026, including Dusit Hotel Greenhills Manila, Plaza de Zamboanga – Dusit Collection, and new Dusit Princess hotels in Lipa and Cebu City, with more projects to follow through 2027. —Ramon C.
