  • Company positions ballet as a shared family Christmas experience

Ballet Manila is carrying forward its beloved Holiday Cheer Series with a new staging of “Snow White,” running Dec. 25 to 29, 2025 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.

Since its launch in 2022, the family oriented program has evolved into a signature Christmas offering designed to make ballet inviting, accessible, and tradition forming for Filipino audiences.

Driving the news

The upcoming production marks a milestone for the company as it debuts two alternating casts in the lead roles for the first time.

Real-life couple Abigail Oliveiro and Mark Sumaylo bring authentic chemistry to the stage, while Nanami Hasegawa and Romeo Peralta introduce a fresh pairing that underscores the ballet’s themes of renewal and discovery.

What they’re saying

For CEO, artistic director, and “Snow White” choreographer Lisa Macuja Elizalde, the Holiday Cheer Series is rooted in the company’s mission to merge storytelling and dance in ways that resonate with families.

“Holiday Cheer Series is our way of bringing people together through ballet,” shared Lisa. “These productions are not only about artistry, but about using ballet to tell stories that parents and children can enjoy together, year after year.”

Why it matters

Holiday programming has become a strategic anchor for cultural institutions seeking to rebuild audience habits.

Ballet Manila’s consistent effort to present family friendly classics helps strengthen local engagement while cultivating the next generation of dance audiences.

By selecting a universally loved tale like “Snow White,” the company adds a familiar narrative touchpoint that widens its appeal beyond traditional balletgoers.
