Eton Properties lights up season with ‘Kumukutikutitap’ showcase

Eton Properties ushered in the holidays with the fifth edition of “Kumukutikutitap: Maningning na Paskong Pamilyang Pilipino” last Nov. 15, transforming Eton Centris in Quezon City into a hub of Filipino creativity and community spirit.

The celebration, detailed in a press release, continued the tradition of merging art, sustainability, and public engagement.

The program

The annual Inter-Barangay Parol-Making Contest brought together barangays, schools, and community groups. First launched in 2020 with the Office of the Vice Mayor of Quezon City, the initiative encourages the use of recycled and repurposed materials to keep the Filipino Christmas spirit alive.

By the numbers

A total of 81 parols lit up the venue, each crafted from eco-friendly and upcycled items that highlighted themes of hope, ingenuity, and bayanihan.

Winners circle

Twenty entries received special prizes, while the top awards went to:

• 1st Place: Barangay Payatas (Payatas B. Elementary School)
• 2nd Place: Barangay Krus na Ligas
• 3rd Place: Barangay Bagong Silangan

What they’re saying

“Sustainability becomes real when people experience it, not when it’s written in a plan. Kumukutikutitap shows how community, creativity, and responsible choices shape the way we celebrate, build, and care for the spaces we share,” said Donna Salgado, AVP for marketing, PR and corporate communications; customer experience lead; and sustainability and ESG officer of Eton Properties.

Eton Properties president and CEO Kyle C. Tan emphasized the program’s growth.

“It is a pleasure to welcome you all to the fifth year of our Christmas celebration here at Eton Centris, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Mayor of Quezon City,” Tan said, expressing gratitude to Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, Quezon City LGUs, and LT Group sister companies including Tanduay, whose recycled barrel Christmas tree again served as centerpiece.

Ar. Adrian Chua, COO of Eton Properties, added: “Kumukutikutitap has been more than a holiday event. It is a shared tradition that brings together Eton Properties, the Quezon City government, and our community here at Eton Centris to celebrate creativity and the Filipino spirit of togetherness.”

Beyond beats

Following the awarding ceremonies, Beyond Beats — a musical showcase presented with Tanduay — featured Silent Sanctuary, Moonstar88, Angela Ken, Kenan, Kiss N Tell, and Better Days, bringing families together through familiar OPM soundtracks.
