Insider Spotlight
Christmas kicked off with a cause at Fisher Mall as its Quezon Avenue and Malabon branches lit up their giant trees under the banner “A Holiday of Hope,” turning the launch of the holiday shopping season into a fundraiser for children with cancer.
The Nov. 13 event gathered families, shoppers, government officials, and performers in both malls, reinforcing Fisher Mall’s positioning as a community hub rather than just a retail center.
Why it matters
The mall’s Christmas campaign is directly tied to Bahay Aruga–A Free Halfway House for Pediatric Cancer Patients Inc., turning everyday consumer spending into sustained support for medical, nutritional, and educational needs of young patients.
“Fisher Mall has always believed in creating spaces where people feel connected,” Raymond Del Rosario, president of the Fisher Mall Group of Companies, said in a press release on Nov. 18, 2025.
“Events like this remind us that a mall is more than just a place to shop because it is also a space where community and compassion come together,” he added
The details
The twin celebrations featured performances by the Quezon City Symphonic Band, Malabon Concert Singers, and Ballet Manila, along with interactive activities for families.
A Christmas-themed LEGO display by PinoyLUG, led by Leslie Araujo, added a nostalgic, family-friendly draw for shoppers.
Quezon City officials, including Councilors Dorothy “Doray” Delarmente, Charm M. Ferrer, and Nikki Crisologo, joined the festivities, highlighting local government support for initiatives that blend culture, creativity, and commerce.
How the giving works
The Fisher Elite Card sits at the heart of the campaign. A portion of every card sold until Dec. 31, 2025, at Fisher Mall Supermarket and Fisher Department Store in both branches goes directly to sustaining Bahay Aruga’s operations, from nourishment and daily care to medical support and learning activities.
Since the partnership began in 2023, Fisher Mall and Bahay Aruga have worked together to channel retail traffic into long-term community impact for pediatric cancer patients.
What they are saying
“Our activity centers are built to be platforms for performers, cultural groups, and local organizations,” Del Rosario said.
“We take pride in giving communities a space to gather, express themselves, and thrive. We look forward to expanding these partnerships with our LGUs even further.”
“As we light our Christmas trees in both our malls, we also light hearts with hope,” he added. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
