Insider Spotlight
The telecommunications company said Globe At Home’s wired broadband subscriber base increased 32 percent year on year to more than 2 million customers. Broadband revenue reached P12.4 billion during the six-month period, up 6 percent from a year earlier, with fiber accounting for 93 percent of total broadband revenue. The company said the shift to wired connectivity is strengthening revenue quality while supporting long-term growth.
Why it matters
The continued migration to fiber reflects changing consumer preferences for faster and more reliable home internet as remote work, online learning, streaming, and digital entertainment remain integral to daily life. Globe is also positioning prepaid fiber as a more accessible option for households seeking flexible broadband services.
GFiber Prepaid remained the primary growth driver for Globe At Home, reaching 1.1 million subscribers as of end-June 2026. The company said customer expansion was supported by higher-value reloads, helping improve profitability while increasing long-term customer engagement.
“As more customers choose fiber for a better home connectivity experience, Globe At Home continues its growth trajectory, reflecting the trust placed in our services,” Globe Broadband Business vice president and head of broadband business Abigail Cardino said in a statement on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026.
“Home is where the Filipino heart beats, and GFiber Prepaid is how we keep it connected. We’ve learned that our customers crave an internet experience as resilient and adaptable as they are,” she added. “As fiber transforms the way we work, learn, and love, Globe At Home’s mission goes beyond connectivity. We are here to enrich your everyday moments, offering deeply personal experiences and unmatched care, because being your most loved brand means always putting your family first.”
The bigger picture
Globe said its network investments have translated into improved customer experience, citing recognition from Ookla for network consistency and a 90.34 broadband rating from the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Oplan Bantay Signal initiative. The company said these investments reinforce its commitment to delivering dependable fiber connectivity while supporting the evolving digital needs of Filipino households.
