Nearly one in three respondents in a Colliers survey picked Fort Bonifacio for their next hotel escape, even as five-star room rates climbed 11.3 percent to an average of $284.60, or roughly P17,360 a night, in the first half of 2026.
Even BGC's four-star hotels are among Metro Manila's priciest, suggesting that the appeal of a convenient escape extends beyond finding the cheapest room.
“The continued preference for these business hubs highlights the appeal of locations that offer a mix of business, leisure, and retail amenities,” according to Colliers Philippines.
A getaway without the airfare
For travelers who would rather skip airports and long drives, a staycation offers a different kind of splurge, with hotels, restaurants, shopping and entertainment all within easy reach.
Manila Bay ranked second with 26 percent of staycation preferences, followed by Makati at 24 percent, Alabang at 11 percent, Ortigas at 4 percent and Quezon City at just 3 percent.
Yet Manila Bay's five-star hotels were charging nearly 20 percent less than a year earlier, with average nightly rates falling to about P11,200, well below BGC's luxury properties.
Luxury comes at a premium
Makati's five-star hotels raised rates 6 percent to roughly P12,400, while BGC's four-star hotels became 23.5 percent cheaper but still averaged nearly P6,000 a night.
Across Metro Manila, average daily hotel rates rose 4.2 percent in dollar terms during the first half, although the contrasting price movements show that the market's gains were far from evenly spread.
