In a statement on Tuesday, the Gokongwei family-led Cebu Pacific said it was supportive of the planned terminal reassignments, but it underscored the need for “operational support and systems are in place before any terminal changes are implemented”.
“Ultimately, what matters most is ensuring minimal disruption for passengers, especially during peak travel periods like Christmas, which is the busiest time of year for us,” Cebu Pacific said.
As an example, it cited airline movements at Singapore’s Changi Airport, where careful planning was carried out before transitioning to the new low-cost terminal.
“[I]t took us a full year of discussions and coordination with both parties before relocating from the low-cost carrier terminal to Changi Airport Terminal 4. This highlights the importance of thorough planning and collaboration in major transitions like this,” Cebu Pacific said.
“If sufficient time and consultation are given, terminal transfers can be handled smoothly. With proper planning and open communication, airlines can successfully manage these transitions,” it added.
