The ceremonial handover took place on October 11, 2024, at the airport, with key officials in attendance, including Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Transportation Undersecretary Roberto Lim, and AIC president and CEO Cosette Canilao.
The project involves an estimated P12.75-billion investment, aimed at modernizing airport facilities, enhancing passenger experience, and improving operational efficiency.
The concession agreement is scheduled to be finalized and signed before the end of October.
The Laguindingan Airport project aligns with AIC’s goal to build purpose-driven infrastructure that drives economic growth and improves the quality of life.
Aboitiz InfraCapital, the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, has been actively developing various transport, water, and digital infrastructure projects across the country, including its involvement in the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and other economic estates.
This development strengthens AIC’s position as a key player in the Philippines’ infrastructure sector and sets the stage for the airport’s transformation into a regional aviation hub.
