Under the operation of Aboitiz InfraCapital Laguindingan Airport Corp. since May 2025, LIA has emerged as the country’s sixth-busiest airport, and the second-busiest in Mindanao after Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport.
Once completed, the airport’s annual capacity is expected to grow from 1.6 million passengers to 3.9 million in the first phase, with further expansion to 6.3 million depending on future demand.
The project involves an estimated P12.75-billion investment, aimed at modernizing airport facilities, enhancing passenger experience, and improving operational efficiency. The concession agreement is scheduled to be finalized and signed before the end of October.
