Laguindingan Airport sees surge in flights after Aboitiz takeover
Under the operation of Aboitiz InfraCapital Laguindingan Airport Corp. since May 2025, LIA has emerged as the country’s sixth-busiest airport, and the second-busiest in Mindanao after Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport.

Aboitiz begins Laguindingan Airport handover process ahead of April 2025 takeover
Once completed, the airport’s annual capacity is expected to grow from 1.6 million passengers to 3.9 million in the first phase, with further expansion to 6.3 million depending on future demand.
