The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) lifted the yellow alert for the Luzon grid at 1:00 p.m. today.

In a statement, the grid operator said the alert was removed earlier than expected due to a decrease in forecasted demand and a delay in the shutdown of the SCPC 1-4 power plants.

A yellow alert indicates insufficient operating margin to meet the grid's contingency requirements.

The NGCP said it continues to monitor the situation to ensure stable power supply.
