The P450-million facility features advanced 69 kV-13.8 kV gas-insulated switchgear, enhancing power quality, reliability, and switching flexibility crucial for the city's expanding needs, the company said in a statement.
The substation also integrates a 50-megavolt-ampere transformer and additional distribution feeders, boosting support for key infrastructures and local businesses, including SM City Batangas and Pontefino Hotel.
This development aligns with the government's focus on energy security and infrastructure, marking a significant step in supporting Batangas' emergence as a dynamic economic hub, Meralco said.
