The National Electrification Administration (NEA) said it allocated P263.78 million in loans to twelve electric cooperatives across the Philippines.

These funds, disbursed under NEA’s Enhanced Lending Program as of March 31, 2024, support both capital expenditures and working capital needs.

Notably, P178.45 million was directed towards capital expenditure projects for nine cooperatives, including upgrades and expansions critical for improving energy infrastructure.

An additional P72 million was provided as working capital for three other cooperatives.

Among the projects funded, The Bohol I Electric Cooperative Inc. received P13.33 million for the rehabilitation of the Janopol Mini-Hydro Power Plant, damaged in 2021 by Super Typhoon Odette.
