MVP-backed Meralco names former actor-turned-corporate professional Hans Montenegro as next HR chief

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), the country's biggest electricity distributor, has tapped Hans Joachim R. Montenegro as its next chief human resources officer and head of corporate services, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

He will succeed Edgardo V. Carasig, who is set to retire on Dec. 31, 2025 after years of service as senior vice president.

Montenegro will first serve as first vice president and deputy head for human resources starting Oct. 3, 2025, before formally stepping into the top HR role at the start of 2026. 

A former actor and model, Montenegro transitioned into the corporate world and built a strong HR career, most recently as chief HR officer of MVP Group’s Kayana Solutions, managing director at Accenture, and chief operations officer for Manulife’s IT delivery centers in Asia.
