SIA travel fair pairs discounted fares with travel perks

Filipino travelers planning overseas trips through the middle of next year are getting another window to lock in discounted fares, as Singapore Airlines (SIA) brings back its Time to Fly Virtual Travel Fair this September.

The online travel fair will offer promotional fares for trips across SIA’s global network, with discounts of up to 37 percent and a travel period stretching from Sept. 20, 2026, to Aug. 31, 2027.

Among the destinations covered are Sydney, Los Angeles, Paris, London and Manchester, with flights connecting through Singapore Changi Airport. Travelers can also book Madrid, the airline’s newest destination.

Promotional fares will generally be available from Sept. 21 to Oct. 15, giving travelers several weeks to plan trips extending into the third quarter of 2027.

Early access

KrisFlyer and PPS Club members will get a head start, with early access to promotional fares from Sept. 18 to 20.

The privilege also covers EastWest Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Mastercard cardholders. Eligible customers can access the fares by logging into their KrisFlyer accounts and using the promotional code FLYSQ2027.

Mastercard cardholders and other customers can book the promotional fares beginning Sept. 21 until Oct. 15.

At the launch of the Time to Fly Virtual Travel Fair on Sept. 17, Singapore Airlines Philippines general manager Liwei Tai said the event was intended to make the carrier’s global network more accessible to Filipino travelers while using Singapore as a connecting hub.

“The Time to Fly Virtual Travel Fair 2026 demonstrates our ongoing commitment to making world-class travel experience more accessible to Filipino customers,” Tai said.

“And through our Singapore hub, Changi Airport, we provide Filipinos with excellent connectivity, premium service, and memorable journeys from the Philippines to destinations worldwide.”

Cardholder rewards

The travel fair goes beyond discounted airfares, with Mastercard cardholders eligible for additional incentives depending on how much they spend.

From Sept. 21 to Oct. 15, eligible Mastercard credit and debit cardholders spending at least P30,000 will receive P2,500 worth of dining gift certificates.

Those spending at least P60,000 will receive P5,000 worth of shopping or dining gift certificates as well as a complimentary one-night stay voucher at Fairmont Makati.

Eligible customers can claim the vouchers at designated SIA offices in Manila and Cebu until Nov. 29.

Mastercard Philippines business development manager Grace Gloria said the arrangement was designed to extend benefits beyond the airfare itself to other parts of the trip.

Cardholders traveling to Singapore may also qualify for up to SGD100 in eCapitaVouchers for use at CapitaLand malls and earn up to SGD130 in Resort Dollars for shopping, dining and stays at Marina Bay Sands.

More incentives

EastWest Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Mastercard cardholders have a separate set of rewards during the travel fair.

Purchases of P30,000 to P59,999 can qualify for a P1,500 cash rebate, while spending from P60,000 to P99,999 can earn P3,000. Purchases of at least P100,000 can qualify for a P5,000 rebate.

Cardholders spending at least P120,000 in a single transaction during the Sept. 18-to-20 early-access period will also receive KrisFlyer Elite Gold status valid for one year.

They may also pay for qualifying purchases through installments of up to six months at zero percent interest for a minimum single-receipt purchase of P50,000.

Beyond the flight

SIA is also bringing retail, hotel and lifestyle companies into the promotion, extending the travel fair to expenses travelers may encounter before and during their trips.

Offers include discounts from Certified Calm and The Travel Club, a P1,000 Rustan’s shopping voucher for qualifying purchases and Grab Philippines vouchers worth up to P200.

Accommodation deals include discounts of up to 45 percent at The Ascott, Citadines, Somerset and Lyf properties.

Grand Hyatt Manila is offering 20 percent off stays plus a P1,000 dining credit, while The Reef Island Resort Mactan Cebu has holiday packages starting at P8,177. Fairmont is also offering special-privilege vouchers.

The mix of airfare, accommodation, dining and shopping incentives reflects how airline travel fairs are increasingly being packaged around the broader travel experience rather than the flight alone.

For travelers, however, the main consideration remains timing: the promotion covers trips for nearly a year, giving customers the option of booking well ahead for holidays and other planned travel.

Eligible bookings can be made from Sept. 21 to Oct. 15 through the Singapore Airlines website and SingaporeAir mobile app using FLYSQ2027, as well as through SIA-accredited travel agencies in the Philippines. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
