The collaboration will use Trip.com’s digital platform and airline network to promote inbound and outbound travel through Cebu and other airports operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital.
Wider reach
MCIA and Trip.com have secured partnerships with airlines including Philippine Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, China Airlines, Starlux Airlines, EVA Air, Scoot, Jetstar, Korean Air and United Airlines.
Trip.com has about 2.5 million active subscribers, giving MCIA another channel to market Cebu and its growing network of domestic and international routes.
“This partnership underscores our ongoing commitment to expanding global access to the beautiful destinations of the Philippines,” Aboitiz InfraCapital Airports chief executive officer Athanasios Titonis said in a statement.
He said the arrangement would help MCIA expand its digital footprint in key markets while supporting the airport’s efforts to position Cebu as a major travel hub.
Travel deals
Travelers can use the platform to search for deals involving Cebu as well as Aboitiz InfraCapital-operated airports in Bohol and Laguindingan.
The platform will offer network deals and vouchers covering flights, hotels and attractions from these destinations.
MCIA said the collaboration is part of efforts to expand access to more destinations, support airline partners and generate more tourism activity in Cebu and other regional markets. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
