The flag carrier will initially operate four weekly flights before progressively increasing frequencies to daily service as operational considerations allow.
The route revival is expected to benefit overseas Filipinos, business travelers, tourists, and cargo customers by reestablishing direct access between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. Dubai also serves as a major gateway for onward travel to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
The big picture
The resumption comes as travel between the Philippines and the UAE becomes more accessible for many Filipino travelers. Eligible Philippine passport holders can now obtain a visa-on-arrival in the UAE if they possess a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by the United States, the European Union/Schengen Area, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, or New Zealand.
To support demand for the restored route, PAL is launching an introductory all-in roundtrip fare starting from $650 for a limited period, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
By the numbers
Beginning Oct. 2, Flight PR 658 will depart Manila every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 12:50 p.m., arriving in Dubai at 6 p.m. The return service, Flight PR 659, will leave Dubai on the same days at 7:45 p.m. and arrive in Manila at 9:10 a.m. the following day.
PAL said the restored service reinforces its international network while enhancing travel options for passengers and supporting trade through improved cargo connectivity between the Philippines and the UAE. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
