The planned Pax Silica Industrial Hub aims to make the Philippines a bigger player in artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing while creating quality jobs, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Monday.

“The Pax Silica industrial hub will create an ecosystem that will have AI at its core. It will bring quality jobs to our people, accelerate our industrial competitiveness, and revitalize our economy,” Marcos said during his State of the Nation Address.

He said the project is a product of the 23-member strong and US-led initiative.

Luzon Economic Corridor

Marcos said the hub will serve as “a strategic component of the Luzon Economic Corridor” and become “an advanced manufacturing and logistics center in the global AI and technology value chain.”

The project remains in the planning stage, with the Philippine government offering around 1,620 hectares, in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, for what is envisioned to become a major hub for AI-driven manufacturing and logistics.

The hub is one of the flagship projects under the Luzon Economic Corridor, a Philippines-US-Japan initiative aimed at attracting strategic investments and expanding advanced manufacturing in the country.
