Collections beat internal targets by 1.3 percent and grew 3.3 percent year-on-year, strengthening government cash flow early in the year.
“The Bureau of Customs’ highest-ever first-quarter collection demonstrates that our commitment to reforms, transparency, and accountability is delivering real results. These gains will directly support the government’s priority programs and benefit the Filipino people,” said Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go in a statement.
A key boost came from the public auction of high-end vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga, turning seized assets into government revenue.
This period ranks among the Bureau’s best-performing periods, second only to the record set in the third quarter of 2025.
“Every peso we collect helps fund essential services, advance national development, and build a better future for every Filipino,” Go said.
The bureau also ramped up enforcement and post-clearance audits, improving compliance across ports nationwide.
