GSIS deepens partnership with retired educators, unveils new information program

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) strengthened its collaboration with the Philippine Alliance of Retired Educators (PARE) during a meeting with its Mindanao chapter members.

This follows a recent dialogue with PARE’s board of trustees, reinforcing GSIS’s commitment to transparency and retiree engagement.

During the session, GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso provided updates on pension programs, services, and investment performance, highlighting GSIS’s robust investment strategies and risk management protocols.

"Today's dialogue with PARE’s membership reinforces our commitment to transparency," Veloso stated. "We aim to strengthen information-sharing networks to better support retirees."

At the heart of this partnership is the launch of a joint speakers’ bureau, which will equip PARE representatives with accurate and updated GSIS information to combat misinformation.

Retired educators, recognized as influential community voices, will serve as information ambassadors, ensuring retirees receive timely and accurate updates.

Set to roll out in the first quarter of 2025, the speakers’ bureau will include capacity-building sessions, further empowering retirees with essential knowledge on GSIS services.

This initiative cements GSIS’s dedication to keeping members well-informed, engaged, and financially secure. — Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
