This marks the first school partnership in Mindanao for BPIF’s flagship program, FinEd Unboxed, complemented by its Breakthrough financial management app. The initiative aims to train educators and community leaders, equipping them with tools to promote financial wellness.
"Through this partnership with Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao, we are bringing financial literacy closer to communities in Davao," said Carmina Marquez, BPIF executive director.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), signed on Feb. 6, 2025, outlines BPIF’s commitment to supporting 10 adopted communities through a “Train the Trainers” initiative. This program will equip faculty members to conduct financial literacy sessions, benefiting 2,700 individuals directly and an additional 8,100 beneficiaries.
By 2026, the initiative is set to expand to 11 more communities, further extending its reach and adding 4,000 more beneficiaries.
"This collaboration enables our faculty and students to promote financial literacy in adopted schools, paving the way for a more financially resilient society," said Engr. Alejandro Ballado Jr., MMCM EVP and COO.
