Delgado replaces Maria Louisa "Issa" Guevarra-Cabreira, who will assume the role of leadership development advisor reporting to the chief human resources officer, Globe said in a stock exchange filing on Wednesday.
“I’m deeply honored and grateful for the trust and confidence our leaders have given me. This opportunity reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team, and I am committed to leading with the same passion and purpose that has brought us this far," Delgado, Globe's vice president for consumer mobile business, said in a separate statement on Wednesday.
"Together, we will continue to drive innovation, achieve our goals of a digital nation, and create lasting value for our customers, company, and various stakeholders,” he added.
Expanded portfolio
As chief commercial officer, Delgado will oversee Globe’s revenue-producing businesses, including mobile and home broadband. This is one of the company’s most senior roles, second only to that of CEO Ernest Cu.
“As Darius steps into his role as chief commercial officer, he will report directly to me, leading our commercial group to unlock even greater opportunities for our business," Cu said in a statement.
Over the past year, as officer-in-charge of the commercial group, he has led us to new heights, ensuring our continued leadership in consumer mobile," he added.
Cu also recognized Guevarra-Cabreira's valuable leadership role and invaluable contributions while head of the commercial group.
"Her commitment has created a strong platform for Darius and the rest of the commercial leadership team to continue our journey of growth and success," he said.
Deep experience
Delgado is recognized as one of the company’s most well-rounded and influential leaders, with expertise spanning strategy, sales and marketing, and audit.
Before joining Globe, Delgado was a director at SGV & Co. (Ernst and Young), where he spent nine years honing his skills across various sectors.
Delgado has a degree in accountancy and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas. He became a participant in the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2024.
