The company’s board approved the filing of an expression of interest to apply for a New Zealand gaming license and authorized signatories for the application, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday.
The move follows DigiPlus’ planned launch in Brazil and its recent decision to pursue a gaming license in South Africa.
New Zealand is opening its online casino market under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, which took effect in May and established a regulated licensing framework.
Up to 15 online casino licenses will be auctioned ahead of the market’s scheduled launch on Dec. 1, 2026, according to industry publication iGaming Expert.
From June 1, 2027, only licensed operators will be allowed to offer online casino gambling services in New Zealand, iGaming Expert reported.
