As digital platforms continue to reshape the way Filipinos learn, work, and earn, TikTok is expanding its efforts to help more people build sustainable livelihoods in the creator economy.

The global short-form video platform recently partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority–National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) to hold a special edition of its flagship TikTok Content Camp, providing aspiring entrepreneurs, job seekers, and content creators with practical digital skills that can open new income opportunities.

Digital skills

The initiative reflects TikTok's support for the Philippine government's push to strengthen the country's digital economy by making future-ready skills more accessible.

"The digital economy is creating new opportunities for Filipinos to build businesses, develop new skills, and earn a livelihood," TikTok head of public policy for the Philippines Yves Gonzalez said in a statement.

He said the collaboration enables TikTok to deliver practical, industry-relevant training that empowers Filipinos to participate in the digital economy, create sustainable livelihoods, strengthen their communities, and contribute to inclusive economic growth.

TESDA-NCR said digital skills have become increasingly important as industries embrace technology and online platforms.

"Digital skills are becoming increasingly essential across industries, and TESDA's role is to make sure every Filipino is equipped to succeed in this rapidly changing environment," TESDA RTC-NCR center administrator Eugene P. Agcaoili said.

During the event, participants immersed themselves in interactive learning sessions, building practical skills and knowledge in content creation, livestreaming, and digital entrepreneurship. He said TikTok Content Camp complements TESDA's technical training by introducing learners to content creation, livestreaming, and social commerce—skills that can support entrepreneurship and long-term growth.

Hands-on learning

Participants joined interactive workshops designed to provide practical knowledge they could immediately apply on digital platforms.

The program began with a CapCut session that introduced the basics of video editing, content packaging, and techniques for producing engaging short-form videos.

The training was followed by an overview of TikTok LIVE, where participants learned about the Philippine livestreaming landscape, emerging content niches, audience engagement strategies, and monetization opportunities. They also gained insights into how TikTok LIVE agencies support creators and businesses.

The final session focused on TikTok Shop Creator Affiliates, giving participants practical strategies for creating content that supports social commerce while helping brands and merchants reach more consumers.

Inclusive growth

TikTok said partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders are central to its efforts to expand digital upskilling opportunities across the country.

By equipping more Filipinos with practical knowledge in content creation and digital entrepreneurship, the platform aims to help individuals build confidence, explore alternative income streams, and adapt to the demands of an increasingly digital economy.
