Metro Pasay Hospital taps PLDT Enterprise for digital upgrade

As patient inquiries and hospital transactions continue to rise, Metro Pasay Hospital and Medical Center Inc. is strengthening its digital backbone through a partnership with PLDT Enterprise aimed at improving connectivity, communication, and operational efficiency.

Hospital officials said reliable digital infrastructure has become increasingly important in ensuring smooth coordination among departments, doctors, and external partners while providing faster responses to patients.

Dr. Samuel Vincent Yrastorza, medical director of Metro Pasay Hospital, said the hospital sought a technology partner capable of supporting both its current operational needs and future growth plans.

“PLDT Enterprise understood our requirements and delivered reliable, future-ready solutions,” Yrastorza said in a statement. “Their proactive support and professionalism have been instrumental in helping us strengthen our operations and serve our patients effectively.”

Digital shift

PLDT Enterprise, the corporate business arm of PLDT Inc., deployed iGate and SIP Trunk solutions to help the Pasay-based hospital improve network reliability and manage increasing call volumes more efficiently.

The hospital said the upgraded communication systems now allow quicker access to patient information and better coordination across hospital units.

Shiela Garcia, relationship manager for Metro Pasay Hospital at PLDT Enterprise, said stable connectivity was a major consideration in designing the system.

“Healthcare providers operate in environments where responsiveness and coordination are critical,” Garcia said. “Even small communication delays can affect workflows, so having stable connectivity was a key priority in designing the solution for the hospital.”

Growing demand

Metro Pasay Hospital serves patients requiring routine consultations, specialized medical care, and emergency services. Hospital officials said improving digital infrastructure is necessary to keep pace with growing demand while maintaining quality healthcare services.

PLDT Enterprise said the partnership reflects its continuing push to support healthcare institutions and small and medium enterprises through scalable information and communications technology solutions.

Dennis Magbatoc, assistant vice president and head of SME Acquisition and Account Management at PLDT Enterprise, said dependable communication systems are increasingly essential in healthcare operations.

“Reliable connectivity and communication are essential in delivering quality healthcare,” Magbatoc said. “By supporting Metro Pasay Hospital with dependable, scalable digital solutions, we are enabling healthcare SMEs to operate with confidence and focus on what matters most—patient care.”
