Insider Spotlight
The 50th Anniversary Raffle will run from August to December 2026, giving more than 250 customers the opportunity to win prizes that include five Toyota Ativ Hybrid cars and hundreds of P5,000 SM Gift Passes. The campaign is positioned as a thanksgiving initiative for clients who have supported the bank's growth over the past five decades.
Why it matters
The anniversary campaign highlights how banks are increasingly using customer rewards programs to deepen engagement while encouraging savings and deposit growth.
The initiative also reflects BDO's strategy of combining traditional banking relationships with digital customer onboarding and registration.
To qualify, new customers must open an eligible BDO Unibank or BDO Network Bank account, complete a one-time online registration, and maintain the required balance to earn raffle entries.
Existing customers may also qualify by increasing their deposits and completing the same one-time registration process.
The raffle consists of five draws. The first two monthly draws will each award 50 winners with P5,000 SM Gift Passes. The third and fourth monthly draws will each feature one Toyota Ativ Hybrid car and 50 SM Gift Passes, while the Grand Draw in January 2027 will award three hybrid cars and another 50 SM Gift Passes to eligible participants from the August to December promo period.
The bigger picture
BDO said the campaign coincides with changing financial habits among Filipinos, as digital banking, mobile transactions and broader access to financial products reshape how customers manage their money.
The bank noted that financial priorities have also evolved across generations. While earlier generations focused on home ownership and retirement security, younger Filipinos are increasingly saving for travel, emergency funds, entrepreneurship and investments that provide greater financial freedom.
BDO said it intends to continue adapting its products and services to meet these changing needs while remaining a trusted financial partner for customers.
BDO remains the country's largest bank in terms of total assets, loans, deposits and trust funds under management based on its published statement of condition as of March 31, 2026. The bank also operates more than 2,000 consolidated branches, over 7,900 teller machines and maintains 13 international offices. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
