The celebration, held at the Dusit Thani Residence Davao on Dec. 4, 2025, brought together generations of leaders, employees, partners, and friends under the theme “Seventy Years Strong: Forward Together.”
Set in the city where Conrado Alcantara and Sons Inc. began in the mid-1950s, the gathering highlighted the group’s evolution into one of the country’s most diversified Filipino-owned conglomerates.
Why it matters
Beyond commemorating longevity, the event reinforced the Alcantara Group’s enduring commitment to Mindanao as both its birthplace and strategic heartland.
Over seven decades, the group’s investments in power, agribusiness, aquaculture, and real estate have played a role in supporting regional development and livelihoods.
The big picture
A curated anniversary exhibit traced the group’s journey from its Davao roots to its expansion across key sectors, including energy through Alsons Power, agriculture and aquaculture through Alsons Agribusiness, and property development through Alsons Development and Investment Corp.
The program honored founder Conrado Alcantara and the second-generation leaders who scaled the enterprise while maintaining its values of service and nation-building.
Guests were also recognized as part of that journey, with tributes highlighting how collaboration among employees, partners, and host communities has sustained the Group’s resilience across changing economic cycles.
"We owe this milestone to the men and women across generations who helped shape the Alcantara Group into what it is today. What has kept us strong is not just strategy alone, but the spirit of unity and service that has guided us since the beginning—growth that uplifts both people and communities,” said Nicasio I. Alcantara, chair of the Alcantara Group.
Leadership continuity
The group chair led the commemorative toast, while vice chair Editha I. Alcantara delivered a message honoring the collective contributions behind the Group’s legacy.
With the third generation preparing to take on larger leadership roles, the focus remains on stewardship and continuity, particularly in Mindanao.
What’s next
As the group’s real estate arm, Alsons Dev was cited as central to translating the founder’s vision into community-focused developments in the region.
“As we look to the future, we do so with renewed purpose—to sustain what has been built and to keep growing it with the same vision, integrity, and care that defined the generations before us,” said Miguel Rene A. Dominguez, president and CEO of Alsons Dev.
“We will continue to build responsibly, create long-term value, and drive progress for generations to come.”
Building on seven decades of growth, the Alcantara Group said it remains focused on expanding its diversified businesses while advancing industries that contribute to Mindanao’s long-term development and the country’s broader progress. —-Ramon C. Nocon | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
