McDonald’s Philippines is marking the first anniversary of MyMcDonald’s Rewards, its digital loyalty program designed to turn purchases into points redeemable for food, merchandise and member-only experiences.

Launched in 2025 through the McDonald’s App, the program is positioned by the company as the first digital loyalty program in the Philippine quick-service restaurant industry. McDonald’s said the initiative forms part of its push to offer customers greater value while strengthening its digital capabilities.

Why it matters

Loyalty programs give restaurant operators another way to encourage repeat purchases while building direct digital relationships with customers. For McDonald’s Philippines, MyMcDonald’s Rewards also provides a platform for promotions and experiences beyond traditional food discounts.

“Value is not only about giving customers more for their money—it is also about recognizing every time they choose McDonald’s,” McDonald’s Philippines assistant vice president for Strategy and Insights and Digital Katrina Lee-Chua said in a statement.

“That belief shaped MyMcDonald’s Rewards from the beginning. We created a program that turns everyday McDonald’s moments into something more meaningful, where every visit, order, and point reflects how much we value our customers’ loyalty. As we mark our first anniversary, we are building on that promise by giving McDo fans even more rewarding ways to experience ‘May Point ’Yan!’,” Chua added.

At the heart of the celebration is the limited-edition McDo Denim Jacket—a commemorative anniversary reward created especially for loyal McDo fans. Beginning August 17, MyMcDonald’s Rewards members can redeem the jacket for 1,200 points at 30 participating stores nationwide, while supplies last. | Contributed photo

What’s new

The anniversary campaign centers on a limited-edition McDo Denim Jacket, which members can redeem for 1,200 points starting Aug. 17 at 30 participating stores nationwide while supplies last.

McDonald’s is also rolling out anniversary Rewards Missions through its app, allowing members to earn bonus points and reach rewards faster. The company said members can expect a refreshed rewards portfolio and a micro-drama series featuring Filipino stories tied to MyMcDonald’s Rewards experiences.

The bigger picture

Customers join by downloading the McDonald’s App, creating an account and scanning their rewards QR code when making purchases. The program builds on the restaurant chain’s nationwide footprint of more than 860 stores.
