The companies officially launched NWR Play, Newport World Resorts’ regulated online gaming platform, with PhilWeb providing the technology infrastructure behind the service, a statement on Monday showed.
Growing casino network
The partnership makes Newport PhilWeb’s second major integrated resort client in Metro Manila after Okada Manila and its fourth nationwide, joining NUSTAR Resort and Casino in Cebu and Hann Casino Resort in Clark.
PhilWeb said its platform combines gaming content, cloud infrastructure, customer support, regulatory compliance and artificial intelligence-powered monitoring into a single operating system designed to support large-scale online gaming operations.
Digital push gathers pace
“The official launch of NWR Play demonstrates our capability to execute and deploy end-to-end digital infrastructure for the industry’s most recognized luxury integrated resort brands,” PhilWeb president Brian Ng said in the statement.
Newport World Resorts president and chief executive officer Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez said the platform marks “a key milestone” in the company’s digital expansion, extending its gaming business beyond its land-based operations.
Newport World Resorts is owned by listed Alliance Global Group, which is owned by the Tan family.
The launch also builds on PhilWeb’s recent P2-billion strategic investment and artificial intelligence roadmap, backed by the appointment of tycoon Lance Y. Gokongwei to its board.
