Available through web and mobile platforms, Levela offers bite-sized lessons on budgeting, saving, debt management, insurance, financial planning, and fraud prevention.
The platform primarily targets Generation Z, including university students preparing for adulthood and young professionals managing their first salaries and expanding financial responsibilities, Prudence Foundation said in a statement.
Growing needs
Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc, said practical financial education has become increasingly important as young adults face higher expenses, more complex financial products, and growing exposure to digital transactions.
The Philippines was selected as Levela's first launch market, highlighting the foundation's commitment to expanding financial literacy and inclusion in communities where financial education remains a pressing need.
"At Pru Life UK, we are proud to support the launch of Levela in the Philippines, advancing our shared commitment to make financial literacy and inclusion more accessible to the communities we serve," Pru Life UK president and CEO Sanjay Chakrabarty said in the statement.
He said the company continues to work with local partners to bring financial education closer to everyday life and help Filipinos make informed financial decisions.
To broaden access, Prudence Foundation and Pru Life UK also introduced an English version of the platform's Shariah-compliant financial education module for Filipino Muslim communities.
An offline version is likewise being developed to reach underserved sectors, including informal and low-income workers with limited internet access.
Regional rollout
Levela builds on Prudence Foundation's award-winning Cha-Ching financial literacy program, which has helped millions of children across Asia and Africa develop essential money management skills over the past decade.
The platform's educational content was developed in partnership with the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion, an independent think tank focused on advancing inclusive and responsible financial systems.
"Levela builds on our financial literacy efforts by providing a new generation of young adults with practical tools they can use in their daily lives," Prudence Foundation executive director Nicole Ngeow said.
She said the Philippines was chosen as the initial launch site because of the opportunity to expand access to financial education where it is needed most and to help build financially resilient communities over the long term.
Following its Philippine debut, Prudence Foundation plans to introduce Levela later this year in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Ghana, and Zambia, extending the platform's reach as more young people seek practical guidance in navigating today's rapidly evolving financial environment. —-Ed: Corrie S.
