Ateneo de Manila University’s strong focus on justice and transparent institutions has secured its No. 1 position in the Philippines for the 2024 University Impact Rankings.

Released by the United Kingdom-based publication Times Higher Education, the new survey recognized universities that “excel across multiple United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals” or SDGs.

Ateneo, which was ranked in the 201-300 category, gained strong marks in the SDG goals of peace, justice and strong institutions, partnerships for the goals, clean water and sanitation, and affordable and clean energy.

Next in line were De La Salle University, Ifugao State University, and University of the Philippines, ranked at 401-600.

Batangas State University, Mariano Marcos State University, Saint Louis University (Philippines), and University of Santo Tomas were ranked from 601-800.

“By excelling in a variety of SDGs, these universities showcase their commitment to addressing the world’s most pressing challenges, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and partnerships,” Times Higher Education said of the latest impact scores.

A total of 2,152 universities from 125 countries and regions were evaluated.
