Through its recent merger with APEC Schools, NTC launched SmartClass, an innovative homeschooling program that combines the legacy of teaching excellence with cutting-edge digital tools.
NTC SmartClass offers students academic flexibility and individualized learning experiences. Learners can go at their own pace, revisit topics, and take on more advanced subjects when ready. This adaptability makes the program especially suitable for children with unique learning styles and families seeking a more balanced lifestyle.
“For us, it was a game-changer,” said Marie Cruz, a SmartClass parent. She observed a significant shift in her son Dave’s interest in learning after switching from a traditional homeschool program. “With SmartClass, the Subject Matter Experts spark something in them to delve deeper,” she said.
Dave, who has a passion for technology, began exploring 3D printing, modeling, and programming—interests that were ignited through SmartClass’s personalized learning format.
Beyond academics, Cruz pointed to the financial and lifestyle advantages. “The money we save from not paying for commuting and lunches now goes toward our travels. We like to travel as a family, and NTC SmartClass helped us do that.”
Another parent, Cherille Siquete, turned to SmartClass when traditional school proved to be a poor fit for her daughter. “It was like a hand in a glove. A perfect fit,” she said. The program’s flexibility, values, and self-paced learning gave her daughter the freedom to thrive while cultivating independence.
“After a year, my daughter became more responsible,” Siquete added. “It’s up to them to submit their projects and meet deadlines. If they don’t, there are consequences. That accountability is something traditional schools often struggle to develop.”
SmartClass also nurtures values and skills that go beyond classroom boundaries. “There’s a different kind of skill and value they gain from SmartClass—something they won’t get from traditional schools or other homeschool setups,” Siquete said.

The program equips students not only with knowledge but also with real-world skills, independence, and a love for learning.
