A eucharistic celebration was held at the SMCL St. Rose Quadrangle, presided over by His Excellency Papal Nuncio Charles John Brown, the Vatican’s representative to the Philippines. The religious service underscored the school’s Catholic roots and its mission of integrating faith with education.
The Golden Jubilee celebration continued with a gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bonifacio Global City. Among the guests were Education Secretary Sonny Angara and Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, who both acknowledged the institution’s contribution to shaping the country’s youth.
Leading the festivities were SMCL chief executive officer Dr. Lourdes Almeda Sese and director Anthony Almeda. In her remarks, Sese emphasized the school’s commitment to providing quality education while adapting to the challenges of the modern academic landscape.
Established in 1975, SMCL has grown from a small community school into a recognized academic institution in the region. Its golden anniversary serves as a milestone not only for its faculty, alumni, and students but also for the local education sector, which has seen increasing competition and demand for innovation.
The college announced that its 50th year will also be marked by academic and community-focused initiatives throughout the year, reinforcing its role as a key player in developing future leaders.
