AIA, Knowledge Channel promote holistic health for Filipino students

Insider Spotlight

  • AIA Philippines and Knowledge Channel launched Gen H: Generation Healthy to promote holistic wellness
  • The video series helps students connect physical, mental, and environmental health
  • Supported by DepEd, it aims to reach more than 10,000 schools nationwide

AIA Philippines and the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), have rolled out “Gen H: Generation Healthy,” a new learning series designed to help Filipino students see health beyond the usual diet-and-exercise narrative.

The initiative encourages young learners to care for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being—alongside the health of their communities and environment.

Why it matters

The Gen H series transforms traditional health lessons into fun, relatable, and holistic learning experiences. It brings to life the AIA Healthiest Schools (AHS) curriculum through bite-sized video episodes on topics such as nutrition, physical activity, mental wellness, and environmental care. The program aims to empower over 10,000 public schools to integrate well-being lessons into daily classroom activities.

Earlier this year, AIA Philippines and KCFI formalized their partnership to expand AHS nationwide. Knowledge Channel produced nine 10-minute episodes developed with DepEd’s guidance and aligned with AIA’s Rethink Healthy campaign—promoting a broader view of wellness that includes emotional balance, community engagement, and sustainable living.

What they’re saying

“With Gen H, we’re helping shape a generation that’s not only health-conscious but also community-minded and environmentally aware,” said Melissa Henson, AIA Philippines chief marketing officer.

KCFI president Rina Lopez added, “By bringing health education into classrooms and homes, we’re planting the seeds of lifelong wellness and shared responsibility.”

Mayor Leni Robredo said, “We join you in your call for more effective educational materials for our students … to have healthy children—not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally.”

Naga Mayor Leni Robredo joins the call for the holistic growth of children—not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally.
