With the theme “Purpose-driven Innovation,” the summit aimed to inspire young minds to push the boundaries of science and technology and explore opportunities in the power sector.
Experts from New Energy Nexus, Ikigai Philippines, and Meralco introduced students to innovation frameworks, the Japanese concept of “ikigai” (reason for living), and career opportunities in the energy industry.
“The power sector is full of untapped potential, and now is the best time for you to explore, innovate, and contribute to its future,” said MPA president Nixon G. Hao.
“This summit is one of the many initiatives of the Meralco Power Academy, a testament to our commitment to developing Filipinos into the world's leading power industry talent. We believe that sustainable innovation is the key to a brighter tomorrow, and we are dedicated to fostering the next generation of engineers and scientists who will drive this transformation,” MPA trustee Rogelio S. Aperocho said in the statement.
Among the participating schools were La Salle Greenhills, National University - Nazareth Schools, Mapúa University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Technological Institute of the Philippines.
